I learned about Bukit Tinggi when I read Emmy’s entry about her trip with her family to the said place. If not because of that entry, I wouldn’t know about theĀ existence of such beautiful place at all! Talk about being ignorant of my own country.
I have been wanting to go ever since then, but I was always caught up into something whenever an opportunity comes by. The boyfriend went with his friends when I was out with my family during their visit to KL for CNY hols. The sister went with her friends when I was busy with something else. (What was it again?)
And finally, after having to sulk in envy looking at their photos, I have stepped on Bukit Tinggi! *dance with joy*

..because I like this picture.
In case you don’t know about this place, check out the info here.
We first went to Colmar Tropicale, a unique French-themed resort at the Berjaya Hills. It is modelled after the 16th Century Colmar Village in Alsace, France and has retained the authenticity and European feel of its counterpart.
Water fountain at the main entrance.

Beautiful flowers. My mom would be proud of me if she sees this picture. Finally her daughter knows how to appreciate the beauty of flowers. wtf.

The bridge at the entrance of the castle-like resort.

It gets me imagining a handsome prince on a horse, bursting through the castle gates to save a beautiful princess locked at the top of the tower.
Going inside..

There are cafes offering various types of food. And quite a number of souvenir shops.
Us, in front of a closed wine restaurant. It only opens at night. Look at the boy in white, cute right.
I wonder what was he trying to pose as in this picture.

Red carriage with a sign that says, “Do not sit in the carriage”. And I almost went in and sit inside.

After Colmar Tropicale, we headed to the Japanese Garden which is only about 10 minutes from Colamar Tropicale using the bus shuttle provided.
At the souvenirs shop at the entrance.

I love this picture:

It looks like a painting kan?
Koi. There were lots of them.

Yours Truly in green kimono. Rented for RM 20.

What I love about the Japanese Garden is the scenery. It actually makes you feel like you really are in a Japanese village, just like the ones we usually see in Japanese movies.
There were too many people visiting the Japanese Garden that day, maybe it’s visit Bukit Tinggi day, I don’t know. It was hard to get a shot without having someone else’s butt/legs/head/hands in the background. Unless I photoshop them out. But then again, with me being me; malas.

Us.

Ok, when we were in Colmar Tropicale someone was busy taking pictures that he didn’t even realized that a naughty someone has spread a few petals of a purple flower on his head.

I asked him to pose with the camera and I took a shot of him. He thought it’s going to be a good picture, he even said “I’m going to put this as my Facebook profile picture” until he hit the ‘play’ button on my Ixus.
He said, “Sheeeettttt, who did that?” And that naughty someone laughed his ass off seeing him getting pissed over what had happened.
Then the photoshop princess came into rescue *ahem ahem!* and said, “Hey don’t worry lah, I’ll photoshop this for you.“
He said, “Can kah?“
Of course can! How dare he doubted the photoshop princess riiggghhhtttt~
Left: Before photoshop. Right: After photoshop.

See, purple flowers no more! Now pay me a lunch for this.

hi nicole.
im think im not the right person to ask about food there, coz we didnt stop to eat as we had meal before going up to bukit tinggi. sorry ya.
hi!
i m going there with a bunch of friends on monday! really enjoyed your guide. may i know how long did you take to travel there from KL? and also, the entrance fee to the colmar tropicale? thanks a lot!
hi!
the entrance fee is RM 10, which includes Colmare Tropicale and the Japanese Tea Garden. From KL to Bukit TInggi takes about 45 minutes drive, depending on the traffic.
Have fun on your trip!
hi! really thank you for the information and your reply! thank you! cos i read somewhere that the entrance fee is RM30, really was shocked by that. thank you once again! did you go to the rabbit farm?
i didnt go to the rabbit farm because it was raining when we wanted to go.
anyway, rabbit farm doesn’t include in the RM 10 fee. you have to pay for a different admission fee to rabbit farm. if i am not mistaken, it was only rm 8. sorry if im wrong. =)
ok. hehe. THANK YOU SO SO MUCH. sorry for taking your time. thank you once again. all the best in everything!
no problem. =)
have fun!
